The Regular Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Warren J. Gray Village Hall, 6718 Rio Grande Blvd NW.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FILING AS A CANDIDATE YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING:

CANDIDATE FILING DAY IS TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 2010 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 5:00 P.M. THIS IS THE ONLY DAY A PERSON CAN FILE HIS/HER CANDIDACY, UNLESS THE PERSON WISHES TO BE A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE.

On this day all candidates must file in person at the Village Clerk’s office the following documents required by law for certification of candidacy:

1.   A declaration of candidacy (form provided by the Village Clerk) and;

2.   A certified copy of the candidate's current affidavit of voter registration on

file with the Bernalillo County Clerk.  The affidavit must be certified by the Bernalillo County Clerk on a date not earlier than the adoption of the Election Resolution. The Resolution was adopted at the November 12, 2009 Board Meeting.

3.   All affidavits of voter registration must show the candidate’s current residential address as a street address or rural route number and not as a post office box. 

VOTER REGISTRATION

In order to vote in the Village March 2, 2010 Election, you must be registered to vote.  If you have moved into the Village of Los Ranchos or moved to another area in the Village, please change your registration to the correct address. 

February 2, 2010 – Voter registration closes.  The Bernalillo County Clerk will close voter registration for this election at 5:00 p.m. on February 2, 2010.  Please do not wait until the deadline of February 2, 2010 has passed.  If you have not registered with the Bernalillo County Clerk you may do so in person or by calling the Bernalillo County Clerk at In order to vote in the Village March 2, 2010 Election, you must be registered to vote.  If you have moved into the Village of Los Ranchos or moved to another area in the Village, please change your registration to the correct address.

VOTER REGISTRATION

If you have moved into the Village, moved just down the street or another area in the village and have not changed your voter registration you may pick up a form at the Village Hall or call 344-6582 and a form will be mailed to you.  You can also call the Bernalillo County Clerk at 768-4085.  If you do not remember where you were last registered you can call 768-4085.
