Welcome to the Larry P. Abraham Agri-Nature Center and Agriculture Program

AGRI-NATURE CENTER HOURS OF OPERATION
  • YEAR-ROUND: MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, 8AM TO 5PM

  • SUMMER ONLY (BETWEEN MEMORIAL DAY AND LABOR DAY WEEKENDS): MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY, 8AM TO 5PM

The Village of Los Ranchos Larry P. Abraham Agri-Nature Center is a center of excellence in regenerative agriculture. The Village originally purchased the old Anderson Winery on 25 acres to preserve open space and celebrate our agricultural heritage. After a subsequent purchase of the Anderson Fields to the north, the Agri-Nature Center now has over 40 acres dedicated to building healthy soils, supporting vibrant wildlife and pollinator habitat, and promoting agrobiodiversity by growing and preserving a wide range of native, heirloom, and climate-adapted seeds.

The Village of Los Ranchos has a deep history in agriculture, and we strive to maintain this heritage in three distinct ways: education, research, and economic development.

The Agri-Nature Center provides agricultural education for all ages! We host farm camps, workshops, and provide resources for farmers and gardeners. We offer classes for all skill levels and agricultural interests. We have a community garden with thirty available plots, as well as a community-oriented Healers Garden centered around growing medicinal herbs. We also have an educational fiber-growing program, focusing on our churro sheep.

The agricultural research that we do is aimed at supporting farmers in the village with resources by demonstrating best practices. We trial different varietals, including landrace chiles, and grow using several distinct methods to provide information to growers. Please feel free to reach out for agricultural information uniquely suited for our Village.

We promote economic development and agritourism through partnerships with local businesses, promotion of local farms, and community events.

The Village of Los Ranchos has its roots in agriculture, and we will honor that heritage by:
